When a standard moving light simply isn’t big enough, there’s the GLP MAD MAXX.

ATH Productions has added the GLP MAD MAXX to our lighting inventory. It brings one of the largest and most visually commanding LED beam fixtures in the entertainment industry to our productions and rental clients.
At nearly 459 pounds per fixture, the MAD MAXX lives up to its name. But its size is only part of the story. GLP engineered this fixture to create an enormous, highly visible beam. As a result, it can transform stadiums, festivals, concerts, and large-scale outdoor events.
A Massive 29.5-Inch Beam
The defining feature of the MAD MAXX is its enormous 750 mm (29.5-inch) beam diameter.
Unlike conventional moving beams, the MAD MAXX produces a huge, fully illuminated aperture. From there, a powerful parallel beam extends into the air.
With a fixed 1.6° beam angle, the effect remains extremely tight while maintaining its massive diameter.
The result is a beam that doesn’t just light a stage. Instead, it becomes part of the architecture of the show.
19 High-Powered LED Sources
Inside the MAD MAXX are 19 individually controllable 90-watt white LED sources. Together, they produce up to 68,000 lumens of total output.
Those 19 sources also give lighting designers more creative control than a traditional single-source searchlight.
Depending on the control mode, designers can operate the MAD MAXX as one enormous beam. They can also control three LED segments or individually control all 19 beams.
As a result, designers can create dynamic patterns, multi-beam effects, color combinations, movement, and unique looks. Many of these effects simply aren’t possible with traditional xenon sky trackers.
Built for Stadiums, Festivals and Large-Scale Productions
The MAD MAXX excels in environments where lighting needs to remain visible across enormous distances.
It’s an ideal fixture for:
- Stadium concerts
- Music festivals
- Outdoor productions
- Arena shows
- Large corporate events
- Sporting events
- Touring productions
- Grand openings and major activations
- Sky-beam and searchlight effects
In fact, the fixture has already appeared on major international productions. It’s an impressive lighting element for designers who want to create visual impact on an architectural scale.
Serious Output Without Traditional Xenon Infrastructure
Historically, producing this type of massive beam meant using large 3 kW or 7 kW xenon fixtures. Those systems also came with significant power and logistical requirements.
The MAD MAXX approaches the effect differently.
Its LED system has a maximum power consumption of approximately 2,500 watts. Therefore, it can simplify power requirements compared with traditional high-powered searchlight systems.
In addition, there are no xenon lamps to replace.
Designed for Outdoor Events
For festivals and outdoor productions, durability matters just as much as output.
The MAD MAXX carries an IP66 rating. This provides protection against demanding environments involving rain, dust, dirt, fog fluid, and other challenging event conditions.
Because of this protection, the MAD MAXX is particularly valuable for large outdoor productions. Conventional fixtures may require additional weather protection in these environments.
It’s Not a Laser
From the audience, the enormous concentrated beams created by the MAD MAXX can almost look like oversized laser effects.
However, the MAD MAXX is classified as NO LASER.
Therefore, designers can achieve dramatic aerial beam effects without using a high-powered laser system. This can also avoid many of the additional considerations associated with laser effects.
Nearly 459 Pounds of Lighting Power
There’s nothing subtle about the physical scale of this fixture.
Each MAD MAXX weighs approximately 458.6 pounds and measures roughly 41 inches wide. The fixture reaches approximately 49 inches tall when the head is positioned vertically.
Even before it’s turned on, the MAD MAXX has an imposing presence.
Once the beams come alive, that scale makes sense.
This isn’t a fixture designed to disappear into a lighting rig. Instead, it’s designed to become part of the show.
GLP MAD MAXX Available Through ATH Productions
Adding the GLP MAD MAXX expands ATH Productions’ ability to deliver lighting designs on an entirely different scale. It’s an option for productions where conventional moving lights simply aren’t enough.
Designers can place MAD MAXX fixtures behind a stage to create enormous aerial beams. They can also incorporate them into stadium designs or position them around outdoor venues. In each application, the fixture creates a powerful visual presence in the sky.
For concert tours, festivals, stadium productions, corporate events, and other large-scale productions, the GLP MAD MAXX is now available through ATH Productions.
